dry bread crumbs
1/2 tsp
salt
1/4 tsp
pepper
2 Tbsp
butter
1 can(s)
whole tomatoes, chopped, undrained, 16 ounces
1 c
water
2 Tbsp
beef bouillon granules
1/4 tsp
garlic powder
1/2 tsp
seasoned salt
2 tsp
italian seasoning
4
carrots, peeled and diced
3 large
potatoes, peeled and diced
1 medium
onion, sliced
2 Tbsp
cornstarch
1/4 c
cold water

How to Make Meatball Stew

Step-by-Step

  • 1Combine ground beef with chopped onion, egg, bread crumbs, salt and pepper.
  • 2Shape mixture into about 24 meatballs, then brown in butter; drain well.
  • 3Stir together tomatoes, water, beef base and seasonings.
  • 4Place carrots, potatoes and sliced onion in bottom of crock pot; top with meatballs.
  • 5Pour tomato mixture over all.
  • 6Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.
  • 7Before serving, remove meatballs with a slotted spoon.
  • 8Make a smooth paste of the cornstarch and water and stir into vegetables.
  • 9Cover and cook on high for 10 minutes to thicken.
  • 10Return meatballs to stew and serve.
