This is a recipe my aunt gave me a few years ago and I had misplaced it. After going through some recipes in a cookbook, I found it. I always enjoyed this meat loaf accompanied by mashed potatoes.

Ingredients
- 2/3 cup dry bread crumbs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 2 - eggs, slightly beaten
- 1/4 - 1/2 cup chopped onion, depending on your taste
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped green pepper, optional
How To Make meat loaf with piquant sauce

Step 1Soak bread crumbs in milk; add meat, eggs, onions, seasonings, and green pepper, if using. Mix well. Form into loaf and place in loaf pan.

Step 2Piquant Sauce: 3 T. brown sugar, 1/4 c. catsup, 1/4 tsp. nutmeg, 1 tsp. dry mustard. Spread over top of meat loaf. Bake at 350 for approximately one hour. Tip: To soak up grease from meat loaf, lay two slices of bread under the meat before cooking.
