I found this in a magazine in the early 70's. Simple but elegant.

Ingredients
- 1-10 oz can beef gravy (or make your own)
- 1 1/2 pounds ground sirloin or other ground beef
- 1 cup bread cubes
- 1 - egg, slightly beaten
- 1/2 cup onion, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- - pepper
- 5 - refrigerator crescent dinner rolls.
How To Make meat loaf wellington

Step 1Combine 1/2 the gravy with the ground beef, bread cubes, egg, onion, salt and pepper. Shape into loaf about 7" x 3". Place in shallow baking pan (not a loaf pan). Bake at 375 for 45 minutes. Separate rolls and place crosswise over top and sides of meatloaf overlapping slightly. Completely cover with rolls. Bake 15 minutes more. Meanwhile heat rest of the gravy to serve on the side.
