Ingredients
- 3 pounds round steak, 1/2" thick
- 2 pounds potatoes
- 8 ounces tomato sauce
- 1.5 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper, ground
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 large garlic clove, crushed
- 1 cup water
How To Make meat and potatoes

Step 1Cut round steak into cubes and brown in shortening in heavy skillet or dutch oven.

Step 2Peel and cube potatoes (approximately in 1/2-inch cubes).

Step 3Once meat is slight browned add potatoes and continue to brown.

Step 4Don\'t worry if it sticks to the bottom of the skillet.

Step 5Add tomato sauce, salt, pepper, cumin and garlic.

Step 6Add water and simmer until meat and potatoes are tender.

Step 7Potatoes will thicken sauce.
