Recipe for sauce and meatballs from my wonderful Italian chef boyfriend, Mark!

Ingredients

  • FOR SAUCE:
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 large can of tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • - olive oil
  • FOR MEATBALLS:
  • 1 pound 80/20 ground beef
  • 1 - handful of seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 - egg
  • 1 dash worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • FOR NOODLES:
  • - noodles! :) angel hair or spaghetti

How To Make marky's delicious spaghetti and meatballs!

  • Step 1
    Meatballs first: preheat oven to 350.
  • Step 2
    in a bowl, mix beef with all other meatball ingredients.
  • Step 3
    shape into balls, put on a cookie sheet and bake for 35 mins.
  • Step 4
    While cooking, start your sauce. Saute garlic and dry spices in olive oil for 1 min. on medium heat.
  • Step 5
    Add tomato sauce, cook med. heat for 10 mins.
  • Step 6
    add wine, making sure to stir so all the wine is incorporated into the sauce. cook on med. low for at least 20 mins, ok to let it simmer on low for longer!
  • Step 7
    add salt and pepper.
  • Step 8
    follow directions on pasta box, make sure you time it with the sauce and meatballs!
  • Step 9
    put cooked meatballs in the sauce, serve over noodles. Enjoy!
