marinade for london broil

This is a recipe from my grandmother that is very different but is WONDERFUL! I usually serve with homemade mashed potatoes and a veggie. The heated marinade mixture words wonderful as a gravy for the potatoes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 cup worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1 clove garlic - minced
  • 1 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
  • - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make marinade for london broil

  • Step 1
    TENDERIZE A 2-3LB LONDON BROIL. YOU CAN USE A REGULAR FORK IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AN ACTUAL TENDERIZER TOOL. LIGHTLY SALT AND PEPPER EACH SIDE OF THE MEAT, SET ASIDE.
  • Step 2
    COMBINE ALL INGREDIENTS INTO LARGE MIXING BOWL.
  • Step 3
    ADD MEAT INTO LARGE FREEZER BAG THEN POUR IN MARINADE MIXTURE.
  • Step 4
    ALLOW TO SIT IN REFRIGERATOR FOR AT LEAST 2 TO 4 HOURS BUT OVERNIGHT IS BEST.
  • Step 5
    REMOVE MEAT FROM BAG AND PLACE ON PREHEATED GRILL OVER LOW HEAT. COOK ON EACH SIDE NO LONGER THAN 5-6 MINUTES.
  • Step 6
    TAKE REMAINING MARINATE MIXTURE AND HEAT TO BOILING IN SAUCEPAN FOR APPROXIMATELY 10-15 MINUTES.
  • Step 7
    ONCE MEAT IS COOKED (SHOULD BE RARE TO MEDIUM FOR A GOOD LONDON BROIL) SLICE ENTIRE SLAB OF MEAT INTO 1/4 INCH SLICES, ARRANGE ONTO SERVICE TRAY AND DRIZZLE WITH HEATED MARINADE MIXTURE.
