A traditional family recipe perfect for a jewish holiday table ( and any table at all)! Very flavorful, easy to make, again and again. Use one large roasting pan, no mess, no fuss!

prep time 20 Min
cook time 3 Hr
method ---
yield 6-8 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 3-5 pounds beef brisket, first cut
  • 1 package onion soup mix
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons duck sauce (i like saucy susan)
  • 3 cloves garlic chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • dash pepper to taste
  • 2-3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 cups ginger ale

How To Make lisa's famous pot roast

  • Step 1
Trim most of the fat from the meat. Place in a large roasting pan, fat side down. Preheat your oven to 325 degrees
  • Step 2
Sprinkle all ingredients (except ketchup and ginger ale) one by one, on the meat. Save the ketchup for the last ingredient to sprinkle. Using a flat knife spread to cover the meat evenly. It should now be an ugly mess!
  • Step 3
Pour 2 cups of ginger ale over this mess! Cover tightly with foil.
  • Step 4
Bake in a 325 degree oven for 3 hours.
  • Step 5
Allow the meat to cool overnight. Slice into thin strips. Put back into the sauce. Serve with roasted poatoes. YUMMY!!!!
