Ingredients

  • 5 pounds rib steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 - garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds, toasted and crushed
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup peanut oil
  • 1 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cups soy sauce

How To Make korean bul kogi

  • Step 1
    Place meat strips in bowl; add garlic, sesame seeds, green onions, pepper, sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar and oil and toss to coat meat well.
  • Step 2
    Cover and let marinate at room temperature 4 hrs.
  • Step 3
    BBQ over coals or under the broiler, turning and basting often with marinade until meat is done.
  • Step 4
    SUBSTITUTIONS: May use flank steak (cut in 1/4\" x 2\" strips) instead of the rib steak, and may substitute corn oil for peanut oil.
