rib steak, thinly sliced
garlic cloves, crushed
1/4 c
sesame seeds, toasted and crushed
1 tsp
1 tsp
sesame oil
1 c
brown sugar
1/4 c
peanut oil
1 c
green onions, finely chopped
2 c
soy sauce

How to Make Korean Bul Kogi


  • 1Place meat strips in bowl; add garlic, sesame seeds, green onions, pepper, sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar and oil and toss to coat meat well.
  • 2Cover and let marinate at room temperature 4 hrs.
  • 3BBQ over coals or under the broiler, turning and basting often with marinade until meat is done.
  • 4SUBSTITUTIONS: May use flank steak (cut in 1/4" x 2" strips) instead of the rib steak, and may substitute corn oil for peanut oil.
