Ingredients

  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 16 ounces sauerkraut
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 2 - bay leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon caraway seed
  • - pepper, to taste
  • 1 pound kielbasa, sliced diagonally

How To Make kielbasa sausage with caraway sauerkraut

  • Step 1
    Combine onion, sauerkraut, wine, bay leaves, caraway seeds and pepper in heavy large saucepan.
  • Step 2
    Cover and simmer mixture for 30 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Add sausage and simmer 20 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Discard bay leaves and serve.
  • Step 5
    Note: I've also made this in the crock pot on low for about 6 hours.
