This basic recipe has been a favorite comfort food enjoyed in our home for 40 years. After the kids grew up, it grew up and became a delicious and "kicking" mature favorite.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice, instant and uncooked
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 large egg, slightly beaten
  • 2 teaspoons grated onion
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon marjoram, dried
  • dash black pepper
  • 2 cans tomato sauce (8 oz), divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup El Pato hot tomato sauce

How To Make kicking rice meatballs

  • Step 1
    Combine uncooked rice with beef, onion, salt, marjoram, pepper, and 1/4 c tomato sauce.
  • Step 2
    Add sugar to the remaining tomato sauce and El Pato and combine. Pour over the meatballs and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer 20 min. Add water if needed to have some extra sauce.
  • Step 3
    More El Pato for more heat if desired!
