This is a recipe my Granny taught me years ago. She always had some ready to feed all of her grandkids that came over. It is now my daughter's favorite dish!

prep time 5 Min
cook time 30 Min
method ---
yield 4-5

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 tablespoon each of garlic powder and onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • - black pepper to flavor

How To Make kentucky chop suey

  • Step 1
Brown ground beef and add onions while browning. Drain well and put back in skillet.
  • Step 2
Stir in garlic and onion powders, pepper, and soy sauce. Stir for about 20 seconds and let beef absorb juice a little.
  • Step 3
Add cooked rice at very last so that it will not soak up all soy and/or any grease that may remain. Serve piping hot with a side salad and some apple sauce. Yum!
