This has been passed down through several generations and is one of our family's favorites. It makes the best sandwiches too.

Ingredients

MEAT LOAF

1 1/2 lb
ground beef
1 c
dry bread crumbs
1/2 can(s)
8-oz tomato sauce (the other half will be used in the sauce)
1/2 c
onion, chopped
1 large
egg, slightly beaten

SAUCE

1 1/2 tsp
each, salt and pepper
1/2 can(s)
8-oz tomato sauce
3/4 c
water
2 Tbsp
brown sugar
2 Tbsp
prepared mustard
2 Tbsp
vinegar

How to Make Josephine's Meat Loaf

Step-by-Step

  • 1For loaf, mix all ingredients well and form into a loaf. Place in greased loaf pan or 9x13 pan.
  • 2For sauce, mix all ingredients and pour over loaf.
  • 3Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour.
