Ingredients
- 2 pounds round steak, tenderized
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons cooking oil
- 15 ounces can tomato sauce
- 28 ounces can whole tomatoes, drained, optional
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup green bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
- - pepper to taste
How To Make jeff's swiss steak

Step 1After tenderizing the round steak, dredge in mixture of the flour, garlic powder and salt.

Step 2Brown the outside of the meat quickly in hot oil.

Step 3Add the onions, worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, tomato paste, tomato sauce, pepper and tomatoes (if desired... chop as they cook).

Step 4Add water if necessary to cover the meat.

Step 5Simmer for 2 hours on low heat.

Step 6Add the bell pepper and cook an additional 15-20 minutes.

Step 7Serve with mashed potatoes and rolls.

Step 8Bell pepper may be increased to 1/2 cup if desired.
