I love Chili and over the years I have made and loved many recipes. When I made this recipe I knew I had found the best one yet. I consider this a "make ahead" dish.

Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 2 - 15 oz. cans tomato sauce
- 16 ounces water
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 8 ounce cans chopped green chilies, drained
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 2 cans beef broth
- 1 cup chopped green peppers
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro ( or 1 1/2 tablespoons dried cilantro)
- 3 teaspoons cumin
- 3 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon oregano, dried
- - garlic powder, to taste
- - salt and pepper, to taste
How To Make jan's chili

Step 1Brown ground beef and chopped onions together in a large stock pan.

Step 2Add the remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling, lower heat and simmer, uncovered, for 3 hours. Stirring often.

Step 3Cooks note: The flavor increases on the second day. I always make this the day before I plan on serving it.
