For the 1st Sammie Challenge for 2012 we had 2 ingredients; Red Wine Vinegar and Red Bell Pepper to use in building our sammie. I wanted to use ingredients that I had on hand and this is what I came up with. How To Make over the top burgers - dee dee's
-
Step 1While burgers are cooking, slice vegetables.
-
Step 2Melt butter in saute' pan; add sliced onions, red bell pepper, and mushrooms. Season with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder lightly; add red wine vinegar.
-
Step 3SAUCE: Whisk all ingredients until creamy.
-
Step 4Now that the burgers are sizzling and ready, the veggies are tender and the sauce is ready, let's get the burgers put together. Start by buttering the outsides of the bread. Lay these pieces buttered sides down in a preheated gridle. I use my cast iron grill. Slather the insides with the sauce.
-
Step 5Next, place hambuger steak on bread, a layer of cheese, a layer of veggies and top with bread. Brown both sides and make sure cheese has melted, serve. I served this sandwich with Bonnie Dare's https://www.justapinch.com/recipe/utahn/best-oven-baked-fries/potatoes?k=Oven+Baked+fries&p=1&o=r Very tasty and healthy side!
