Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/3 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 1 package spaghetti sauce mix, 1 1/2 ounces
  • 1 - pie crust shell
  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1.5 cups mozzarella cheese, grated

How To Make italiano meat pie

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 400.
  • Step 2
    Brown beef in large skillet.
  • Step 3
    Drain.
  • Step 4
    Add green pepper and cook 2 minutes.
  • Step 5
    Stir in water, tomato paste and spaghetti sauce mix.
  • Step 6
    Cover and simmer 10 minutes.
  • Step 7
    Sprinkle half of the parmesan cheese over bottom of pie shell.
  • Step 8
    Spread half meat mixture in pie shell.
  • Step 9
    Sprinkle 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese over MEAT.
  • Step 10
    Layer remaining meat and parmesan cheese.
  • Step 11
    Bake on cookie sheet 15 minutes.
  • Step 12
    Sprinkle top with remaining mozzarella cheese.
  • Step 13
    Return to oven until cheese melts and browns.
