We love pot roast but I wanted to spice it up for a different taste. This is a great way to fix it with herbs and red wine!

Slow Cooker Crock Pot

roast, trimmed
red potatoes cut into wedges
2 Tbsp
vegetable oil
15 oz. can(s)
tomato sauce
1/2 c
red wine
2 large
tomatoes, chopped
1 medium
onion, chopped
4 clove
garlic, minced
1 Tbsp
1 Tbsp
ground black pepper
1 tsp
dried basil
1 tsp
dried oregano
1/2 c
beef broth, reduced sodium

How to Make Italian Pot Roast


  • 1Brown all sides of roast in vegetable oil.
  • 2Combine tomato sauce and next nine ingredients.
  • 3Place potatoes in bottom of a crock pot and place roast on top of pototoes. Pour sauce over roast and potatoes.
  • 4Cook in crock pot 8-10 hours or until done. (Or bake, covered at 325 degress for 3 hours or until roast is tender.)
