This is the result of trying all sorts of different meatballs, and I finally am happy with this! I dont use measurements, so I will try my best to get everything right.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds meatloaf mix (ground beef and ground pork)
- 1 - half onion, grated
- 1 - egg
- 3/4 cup french bread turned into crumbs
- 3 cloves garlic minced or crushed
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil chopped fine
- - salt and pepper
- 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil for browning meatballs
How To Make italian meatballs
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 350 In a large mixing bowl, add meat and grate onion over meat. In a food processor or chopper, place the french bread in and turn into fine breadcrumbs. (you could use store bought, but I find a big taste difference)Chop the garlic into very fine pieces or crush if you have a garlic crusher. Chop the basil into fine pieces as well. Add all the rest of the ingredients (except olive oil) and work through with your hands.
-
Step 2Form into balls (golf ball size) and place in a large skillet with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Brown the meatballs on all sides using a large spoon to help hold their shape.
-
Step 3Place the meatballs on a baking sheet and bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until meatballs are cooked through. You can also add your favorite pasta sauce over the meatballs before baking, just use a larger baking dish. Enjoy!
