italian meatballs

My son loves meatballs...has to have them with his spaghetti! These are excellent meatballs and go well with pasta or by themselves as he would tell you!!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/3 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 - eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 - green onions, minced
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
  • 3 tablespoons grated romano cheese
  • 3 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
  • 3 tablespoons minced fresh basil
  • - salt and pepper to own specific tastes
  • 1 cup olive oil

How To Make italian meatballs

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 400.
  • Step 2
    Roll the mixture into 1 1/2" balls.
  • Step 3
    Pour olive oil on shallow baking pan and place meatballs on top; swirl pan around to coat meatballs in oil.
  • Step 4
    Bake meatballs for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown, but not cooked completely through. (unless eating by themselves)
  • Step 5
    Remove meatballs from oil, drain on paper towels and stir into favorite pasta sauce.
