I love mixing up different marinades for meat on the grill. The base for this one, that I used for strip steaks is red wine. We really enjoyed it. I suggest marinating at least 4 hours. Hope you try it sometime.

yield 1 cup - enough for 3 decent sized strip steaks

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup red wine
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon basil paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 tablespoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic - i used jarred
  • 1/2 small onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • Salt - to taste - optional - i used 1/2 tsp

How To Make ~ italian marinated strip steaks ~

  • Step 1
    Mix all ingredients together. Pour over up to 4 pound of steaks. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, shaking the container several times.
  • Step 2
    Grill as usual, until desired donenness.
