italian beef sub sandwich

I saw this recipe on another site and changed it up a bit and made it my own. It is so good!

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons italian salad dressing
  • 1 small onion- sliced
  • 1 - green bell pepper
  • 1 package deli roast beef
  • 2 - sub buns- split
  • 4 slices swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup banana pepper rings (from jar)
  • - butter

How To Make italian beef sub sandwich

  • Step 1
    In a small skillet, saute onion and bell pepper with the italian dressing until slightly softened. Toss in the roast beef to heat throughout.
  • Step 2
    In the meantime, heat oven to about 400 degrees. Split the sub buns and smear butter on all four halves. Place in oven until it starts to brown a little.
  • Step 3
    Remove from oven and add cheese to each half, so that there is cheese on top and bottom of sandwich. Add the meat and pepper/onion mixture to the bread and pop back into the oven just to melt the cheese.
  • Step 4
    Remove from oven and top with banana pepper rings. Put the top on and enjoy while hot!
