Ingredients
- 11.5 oz jars pepperoncini peppers
- 3-4 pounds beef chuck, boneless
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 3/4 teaspoons dried basil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 large onion sliced and quartered
- 10-12 - hard rolls, split
How To Make italian beef sandwiches

Step 1Drain peppers reserving liquid. Remove stems and set aside.Cut roast in large chunks. Place a third of the meat in crock and add water.

Step 2Combine the spices in a small bowl and sprinkle half over beef. Add half of the remaining beef, then onion, reserved peppers and pepper liquid. Top with remaining meat and spices.

Step 3Cover and cook on low 8-9 hours or until meat is tender. Serve on buns and don't forget to add a few peppers!
