Ingredients

  • 3 pounds beef chuck roast, trimmed
  • 3 tablespoons basil, dried
  • 3 tablespoons oregano, dried
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 package onion soup mix
  • 10 - sandwich buns, split horizontally

How To Make italian beef sandwiches

  • Step 1
    Place roast in a slow cooker.
  • Step 2
    Combine basil, oregano and water; pour over roast.
  • Step 3
    Sprinkle with soup mix; cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or until meat is tender.
  • Step 4
    Remove meat; shred with a fork and keep warm. Strain broth; skim off fat.
  • Step 5
    Serve meat on rolls; use broth for dipping if desired.
