Ingredients

  • 10 pounds round or rump roast
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • salt
  • pepper
  • SAUCE INGREDIENTS
  • 7.75 cups water
  • 3 beef bouillon cubes
  • 8 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 teaspoons oregano
  • 1 package Italian dressing mix
  • 2 teaspoons basil
  • 1 package au jus gravy mix

How To Make italian beef

  • Step 1
    Mix vinegar, 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon oregano and the garlic.
  • Step 2
    Pour over seasoned meat, slicing onion on top.
  • Step 3
    Cover lightly; roast at 350 degrees 3 hours or until done.
  • Step 4
    Slice when cool.
  • Step 5
    Before serving, combine sauce ingredients; bring to boil.
  • Step 6
    Cool 10 minutes, then add sliced beef.
  • Step 7
    Serve on poorboy buns.
  • Step 8
    May be refrigerated 2 to 3 weeks.
