pot roast cut into 1 inch cubes
1 Tbsp
all-purpose flour
2 Tbsp
canola oil
1 can(s)
1 can(s)
chicken stock
8 medium
carrots, cut up
potatoes peeled and cut up
onion chopped
1 small
heavy cream
1 tsp
worcestershire sauce

How to Make Irish Beef Stew the Slow Cooker Way


  • 1Heat 2 tablespoons canola oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onions and cook, stirring until soft and translucent. In a bowl toss cut up beef in 1 tablespoon of flour, season with salt and pepper until beef is well coated. Add seasoned beef into a pan and sear on all sides until brown.
  • 2Add cook onions and sear beef into slow cooker.
  • 3Peel and cut up potatoes and carrots, place into slow cooker, along with chicken stock, beer and Worcestershire sauce. Cook in slow cooker on low for 7 to 8 hours while you are at work.
  • 4Place heavy cream into slow cooker about an hour before serving.
