hunter's stew, ma
I found this in Ma's recipe file box in NC in July 2019. However, it is on several recipe cards, which go from ingredients, to #2, and #3. I assume ingredients were page 1. I typed it in exactly as written...LOL

Ingredients
- 2 pounds beef stew meat, cubed
- 1 cup celery pieces
- 1 cup carrot chunks
- 1 cup onion, sliced
- 1/2 cup green pepper strips
- 1 package frozen baby okra (added later)
- 16 ounces stewed tomatoes, tom boy best
- 3 tablespoons tapioca
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 3 tablespoons sherry
How To Make hunter's stew, ma
-
Step 1Brown cubed beef. (use brown pieces of cooked flour). Tom Boy steamed tomatoes better, and are nearer 16 oz. You CAN add okay near end of time.
-
Step 2Add water till you can see it. Use at least some of okra water if cooked separately. Slightly mix up here. Forgot to look on back of card.
-
Step 3Combine in large heavy pan or casserole, cover and bake 3 1/2-4 hours. (I cook in HEAVY pan on top of stove).
-
Step 4Serve over cooked rice.
