I got this recipe from my stepmother and we have all enjoyed it for years. It is almost too easy. only 4 main ingredients.

Ingredients
- 2 pounds beef round cubes
- 3 pounds yellow onions
- 1 - bay leaf
- - salt, pepper, and paprika to taste
- 1 can beer
- 1 can tomato paste
- - olive oil
How To Make hungarian goulash

Step 1In large, heavy sauce pot, sear beef cubes in olive oil.

Step 2Peel and slice onions, add to beef cubes, cover and let cook down 10 minutes.

Step 3While onions are cooking, mix the tomato paste and beer in a medium bowl. Add to pot and then spice with salt, pepper and paprika to your personal liking. Add bay leaf,then cover and simmer for one and a half to two hours, or until beef is tender. Remove bay leaf prior to serving.

Step 4Serve over egg noodles, rice or potatoes. Our preference is bow ties,or dumpling style.
