Makes 2 rolls
Ingredients
- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon liquid smoke
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon mustard seed
- 2 tablespoons morton's tender quick salt
How To Make homemade summer sausage

Step 1Add water and liquid smoke to ground beef and mix.

Step 2Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.

Step 3Form into two rolls and wrap in foil.

Step 4Refrigerate for 24 hours.

Step 5Poke holes in foil with fork and place rolls on rack or broiler pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Meat may appear to be red after baking. Once done baking let it cool. Serve it cold or at room temperature. This can be stored in the refrigerator or it freezes well (double wrap when freezing).
