Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- salt and pepper
- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 2 cups milk
- 1 1/4 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon each ground mustrard and paprika
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 cup white american cheese shredded
- 1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese shredded
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
- 1 scallion dark green parts only
How To Make homemade hamburger helper

Step 1Add the butter to a large skillet. After the butter is melted add the ground beef and garlic. Cook until beef is no longer pink. Add the macaroni, milk, water, and spices. Bring to a boil reduce heat and simmer until macaroni is cooked.

Step 2Add the cheeses and cook until cheese is melted. Taste and adjust for salt and pepper. Heat a broiler and transfer the macaroni to a casserole dish and top with Panko. Broil until Panko is browned.

Step 3Top with green parts of the scallion and serve.
