A friend made this for a men's prayer group meeting. It has been my husband's favorite ever since.

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds ground chuck
  • 3 large onions, chopped
  • 2 medium bell peppers, chopped
  • 3 - celery stalks, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 ounces chili powder
  • 4 tablespoons cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon mrs. dash seasoning
  • 8 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 cup cool water
  • 1 can beef broth
  • 1 can pinto beans, ranch style

How To Make homemade chili

  • Step 1
    Brown meat in a dutch oven sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Drain any grease.
  • Step 2
    Add onions, bell pepper, and celery. Cook for 10 minutes on medium-low heat or until wilted. Add minced garlic, chopped jalapeno,chili powder, cumin, garlic salt, onion powder, and Mrs. Dash. Continue cooking for about 5 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Blend flour in water until thoroughly dissolved. Add to meat mixture. Add beef broth and mix well. Cook for 20 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Add beans and simmer for 30 minutes.
