Ingredients

  • 4 lb
    ground chuck
  • 3 large
    onions, chopped
  • 2 medium
    bell peppers, chopped
  • 3
    celery stalks, diced
  • 1 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 oz
    chili powder
  • 4 Tbsp
    cumin
  • 1 tsp
    garlic salt
  • 1 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1 tsp
    mrs. dash seasoning
  • 8 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1/2 c
    cool water
  • 1 can(s)
    beef broth
  • 1 can(s)
    pinto beans, ranch style

How to Make Homemade Chili

Step-by-Step

  1. Brown meat in a dutch oven sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Drain any grease.
  2. Add onions, bell pepper, and celery. Cook for 10 minutes on medium-low heat or until wilted. Add minced garlic, chopped jalapeno,chili powder, cumin, garlic salt, onion powder, and Mrs. Dash.
    Continue cooking for about 5 minutes.
  3. Blend flour in water until thoroughly dissolved. Add to meat mixture. Add beef broth and mix well. Cook for 20 minutes.
  4. Add beans and simmer for 30 minutes.
