rye bread, torn up

beer or bouillon
1 large

onion, chopped

1 tsp
caraway seeds, optional
1/2 tsp
celery seed
1/4 tsp

How to Make Heidelberg Meat Loaf


  • 1Heat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2Mix all of the ingredients together.
  • 3Spread the mixture into an ungreased loaf pan, 9 X 5 X 3-inches.
  • 4Bake uncovered for 1 to 1 1/4 hours.
  • 5Drain off the excess fat and let stand for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing.
  • 6Serve on a heated platter.
