hearty chili
I've perfected this recipe over the years and everyone seems to like it. The spice mixture is easy to tweak according to taste. A can of tomato sauce and a can of beef broth can be added to thin the chili a bit if you like a soupier chili.

Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 medium red onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 3 - serrano chiles
- 1 large poblano chili
- 1 can beer
- 1 can tomato paste, 12 ounce
- 1 can campbell's fiesta nacho cheese soup
- 1 can black beans
- 1 can pinto beans
- 1 jar salsa, 16 ounce
- 1 tablespoon mustard, spicy brown
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic salt
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
How To Make hearty chili

Step 1Add onion, garlic, lemon juice, peppers, ginger, and cilantro to food processor and process until smooth.

Step 2Brown ground beef in large pot. Add onion mixture. Saute for 5 minutes, stirring as needed. Add beer and stir to combine.

Step 3Add tomato paste, soup, and salsa to pot, stirring after each addition. Add mustard and spices.

Step 4Add cans of beans, stirring to combine. Taste and adjust to make sure seasoning is correct. Simmer for 10 minutes more on low heat. Serve warm.
