hashburger casserole

I threw this together with things I had in my cupboard and walah...it's been a husband pleaser ever since. I love carrying this dish to pot lucks and church socials, such a crowd pleaser. Everyone loves meat and potatoes, don't they?

Ingredients

  • 1 package frozen hash brown potatoes
  • 1 can carrots, canned
  • 1 medium onion/diced
  • 1 lb - ground beef
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 medium green bell pepper/chopped
  • 2 cups plain cornflakes/crushed
  • 1/2 tablespoon butter/melted
  • 2 cups cheese, shredded, your choice...i use colby jack and cheddar

How To Make hashburger casserole

  • Step 1
    Crumble ground beef into medium sauce pan. Add in chopped onion and bell pepper Cook until meat is done and drain. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Grease 9x13 baking dish
  • Step 2
    pour hash browns into large mixing bowl, add groundbeef mixture, soup, cheese and carrots..mix well. Crush Cornflakes in ziplock baggy Melt butter and add to flakes mixing well in bag/set aside for now
  • Step 3
    Put casserole in heated oven for 30 minutes...remove from oven Take the cornflakes in baggy and layer across top of casserole and return to oven for an additional 30 minutes or until top is browned. Let stand for 15mins before eating. It's delicious and enjoy!
