This is a new one on me....Dad had this out in a resturant & now wanted me to make it? I thought, "What the heck is a hamburger steak?" Then I found this recipe...

Ingredients
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1 env. package dry onion soup mix
- 1 dash pepper
- 1 pound ground beef
- 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 1 3/4 cups water, cold
- 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
- 1 - 4 oz. jars mushrooms, whole, drained
How To Make hamburger steaks w/ mushroom gravy

Step 1In a large bowl, combine the egg, bread crumbs, 2 Tbsp soup mix & pepper. Crumble beef over mixture & mix well. Shape into four patties.

Step 2In a large skillet, cook patties over medium heat for 4-5 minutes on each side or until a meat thermometer reads 160 degrees F. & juices run clear. Set aside & keep warm.

Step 3Combine the flour, water, worcestershire sauce & remaining soup mix until blended; stir into skillet. Add mushrooms. Bring to a boil; cook & stir for 5 minutes or until thickened. Serve with patties & mashed potatoes.
