When our son was young and he would have a gang of his friends over to hangout this was one of the cheapest ways to feed 4-5 hungry young men.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 large cans pork and beans
  • 1/4-1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder with parsley
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • - kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • - cornbread or corn muffins for serving

How To Make hamburger gravy with pork and beans over cornbread

  • Step 1
    Saute ground beef and onions until meat is fully cooked and onions are tender. Add remaining ingredients except cornbread. Simmer to let flavors marry.
  • Step 2
    Serve over split buttered cornbread or corn muffins.
