hamburger gravy
A staple at both my husband's and my house growing up. Our mom's both served this over mashed potatoes. We like to change it up and serve over either boiled potatoes with parsley or wide egg noodles. I still serve with mashed potatoes as well. Another great quick meal that always satisfies.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
- - kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon parsley flakes
- 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
- 2 tablespoons beef base
- 4-5 tablespoons all purpose flour or cornstarch for thickening
- 2 cups cold water
- 1 teaspoon kitchen bouquet or gravy master for coloring
How To Make hamburger gravy

Step 1Saute` ground meat, onion and mushrooms in a large skillet until meat is no longer pink and the onion is soft. Drain off most of the fat.

Step 2Season meat with salt, pepper, parsley and garlic. Stir in beef base. Mix flour with cold water, shake well and blend into meat mixture. Bring to a boil so it will thicken. Add kitchen bouquet until color is what you desire.

Step 3Serve over mashed potatoes, boiled potatoes or egg noodles.
