G's Ultimate Burger

Greg Appel

I have experimented with different burgers for years, this one has become my go to recipe. The burger stands itself with any and all condiments,
I like it with the griiling sauce, but you choose to use it or not.

  • 3Peel and grate the onion. Place onion on double thick piece of cheesecloth and ring out juice.
  • 4Place meat in large bowl, chop bacon fine and add, season with salt and pepper and onion juice and hand mix. Divide meat and form into same size patties. Cover with plastic wrap and put in fridge for 1/2 hour
  • 5Fire up grill, and wet a handful of hickory chips.
Remove patties from fridge, set on counter.
Prepare grill for Med. heat, direct heat cooking.
  • 6Grill patties directly over heat for 4 minutes
then turn and brush with sauce, ( if using ) Grill this side down 3 or 4 minutes then turn and brush with sauce
Heat a couple more minutes to desired doneness.
