ground beef stroganoff

When I make this, I actually don't use onions....my husband is very allergic. When he isn't eating though onions make this much better. I also use cube bouillion and fresh mushrooms instead of canned, but this recipe is a good base. You also don't have to cook it near the amount of time shown if you are in a hurry...use the same frying pan you brown the beef in!

Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 2 - garlic cloves, minced
- 1 small can sliced mushrooms, drained
- 2.5 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup consomme or bouillon
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1.5 cups sour cream mixed with 4 tablespoons flour
How To Make ground beef stroganoff

Step 1Brown ground beef in large skillet; add onions, garlic and mushrooms.

Step 2Saute until onion is golden brown.

Step 3Put in crock pot with all remaining ingredients.

Step 4Stir thoroughly.

Step 5Cover and cook on low 6 to 8 hours.

Step 6Serve over hot buttered noodles or rice.
