Ground Beef Stroganoff

When I make this, I actually don't use husband is very allergic. When he isn't eating though onions make this much better. I also use cube bouillion and fresh mushrooms instead of canned, but this recipe is a good base. You also don't have to cook it near the amount of time shown if you are in a hurry...use the same frying pan you brown the beef in!

2 lb
ground beef
2 medium
onions, chopped
garlic cloves, minced
1 small
can sliced mushrooms, drained
2.5 tsp
1/4 tsp
1 c
consomme or bouillon
3 Tbsp
tomato paste
1.5 c
sour cream mixed with 4 tablespoons flour


1Brown ground beef in large skillet; add onions, garlic and mushrooms.
2Saute until onion is golden brown.
3Put in crock pot with all remaining ingredients.
4Stir thoroughly.
5Cover and cook on low 6 to 8 hours.
6Serve over hot buttered noodles or rice.
