My family loves this Beef dish which is breezy to cook and yummy too. I have had some American friends that ate it as a taco filling when I served it with Pita bread and rice

Ingredients

1 lb
ground beef
2 Tbsp
canola oil
1 medium
onion chopped
1 medium
tomato chopped
2
serrano chiles chopped add or reduce per taste
1 stick
cinnamon
4-5
peppercorns
1 tsp
ginger paste
1 tsp
garlic paste
2 tsp
cilantro fresh chopped
1 1/2 tsp
salt or to taste
1 tsp
cumin seeds
1 tsp
cumin powder
1 tsp
coriander powder
1 tsp
red chili powder/ to taste
2 Tbsp
cilantro, fresh optional for garnish

How to Make Ground Beef (Keema)

Step-by-Step

  • 1Heat Oil in a pan
  • 2Add all the whole spices, Cumin seeds, Cinnamon stick. peppercorns, Cloves etc
  • 3Once they Start sizzling add the chopped Onions. Fry till they get pink.
  • 4Now add the ginger, garlic pastes, tomatoes and all spices including 1/2 of chopped cilantro and green chilies and salt
  • 5Saute on medium flame till oil starts to separate. The tomatoes should be soft by now.
  • 6Now add the Ground beef. Make sure to mash it up good or else you will get lumps of ground beef. Stir fry for about 5 minutes.
  • 7Add about 3 Table spoons water. Cover and let it simmer till cooked about 10 minutes.
  • 8Serve with Pita Bread or Naan bread. Can also be eaten with rice
