Ingredients
- 4 - pita bread rounds
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons chopped onion
- 1 - garlic clove, minced
- 2 tablespoons green pepper, minced
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 - freshly ground black pepper
- 1.5 cups tomatoes, peeled, seeded and chopped
How To Make ground beef in pita

Step 1Heat the bread in a low oven.

Step 2Heat the butter in a skillet and saute the onion, garlic and pepper until just soft; do not brown.

Step 3Add the beef, mustard, oregano, salt and a generous amount of pepper.

Step 4Cook, stirring, until the meat is no longer red.

Step 5At the last minute stir in the chopped tomatoes and cook briefly.

Step 6Cut the pitas in half and stuff the pouches.
