ground beef barbecue

This is great and quick - my kids like it served in biscuit cups.They freeze well too.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 - onion, chopped
  • 2 - garlic cloves, minced
  • 5 - celery ribs, finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons prepared mustard
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seed
  • 3 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 1 can biscuits

How To Make ground beef barbecue

  • Step 1
    Brown meat in slow cooker or skillet on top of range on medium heat.
  • Step 2
    Remove excess grease.
  • Step 3
    Transfer cooking pot to heating base or transfer meat to slow cooker.
  • Step 4
    Add all remaining ingredients stirring well to blend.
  • Step 5
    Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours. ( or high 2-3 hours)
  • Step 6
    Serve on buns or over hot dogs for chili dogs. Or you can spray the insides of a muffin pan and place the bisuits in and up the sides of them. Cook according to package directions. When done, place meat mixture inside the biscuits. Enjoy!
