How To Make grilled meatloaf
-
1Prepare grill for direct cooking. Combine beef, bread crumbs, 1/3 cup chili sauce, onion, egg, pepper, and salt in large bowl; mix well. On cutting board or cookie sheet, shape mixture into 9" x 5" oval loaf, 1-½" thick.
-
2Combine remaining 1/3 cup chili sauce, sugar, and mustard in small bowl; mix well. Set aside. Place meatloaf on grid. Grill meatloaf, on covered grill, over medium-hot coals 10 minutes. Carefully turn meatloaf over using 2 large spatulas.
-
3Brush chili sauce mixture over top of meatloaf. Continue to grill, covered, 10 to 12 minutes for medium-well or until desired doneness is reached. (If desired, insert instant-read thermometer into center of thickest part of meatloaf. Thermometer should register 160*F for medium-well.) Let stand 10 minutes before slicing.
