Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound ground chuck or sirloin
  • 1 pound ground lamb
  • 1/2 small onion, chopped fine
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3/4 teaspoon each of ground cinnamon and ground cumin
  • 1 - egg white, beaten
  • - olive oil
  • - green and red peppers, cubed
  • - yogurt dip
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 large garlic clove, pressed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon seeded, chopped super fine, cucumber

How To Make grilled ground kebabs

  • Step 1
    Mix together the meat, onion, parsley, salt, pepper, cinnamon, cumin, and egg white.
  • Step 2
    Knead with your clean hands, until the mixture is smooth and pasty.
  • Step 3
    Shape mixture around eight 9" skewers, forming into balls. Brush with oil. Place pieces of green and red peppers at each end of skewers.
  • Step 4
    Grill over charcoal or in broiler. Turn as meat browns, broiling about 3-4 minutes per side until done to your liking.
  • Step 5
    Mix together the yogurt dip and serve with meat.
  • Step 6
    * Rice pilaf, pita bread, and a tomato & onion salad with some red wine will complete this meal.
