My family and friends love this and ask for it at dinner and cook outs. I always make extra and that is even gone by the end of the meal - you just keep wanting one more piece. IF there are any leftovers, they are great in a salad or sandwich. This is an inexpensive cut of meat that is tender and delicious and may surprise you.

flat iron steak (grocery or butcher)
1/2 Tbsp
liquid smoke flavoring
1 Tbsp
a-1 sauce
1 Tbsp
worcestershire sauce
1 tsp
lawry's seasoning
1 c
italian salad dressing, nonfat

How to Make Grilled Flat Iron Steak


  • 1Rub both sides of Steak with Liquid Smoke and let set 5 minutes.
  • 2Rub both sides of Steak with A-1 Sauce then the Worcestershire Sauce
  • 3Sprinkle Lawry's over both sides of steak. Let set 15 minutes.
  • 4Place in airtight container or zip lock bag and add Italian dressing.
  • 5Marinate at least 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator.
  • 6Place on grill over medium heat for about 6 minutes on each side for a medium (pink center) doneness.
  • 7Let rest 5 minutes before cutting so juices re-absorb. This is great IF there are any leftovers in a salad or sandwich.
