Ingredients

  • 1 pound round steak
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 - clove garlic, diced
  • 1.5 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 cup salad oil
  • 1 cup green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup red or green bell pepper
  • 1 - thinly sliced celery stalk
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 - tomatoes, cut in wedges

How To Make green pepper steak

  • Step 1
    Cut beef across grain into thin strips, 1/8\" thick.
  • Step 2
    Combine soy sauce, garlic and ginger.
  • Step 3
    Add beef; toss.
  • Step 4
    Set aside while preparing vegetables.
  • Step 5
    Heat oil in wok.
  • Step 6
    Add beef, toss over high heat until browned.
  • Step 7
    Taste meat.
  • Step 8
    If it is not tender, cover and simmer for 30 to 40 minutes over low heat.
  • Step 9
    Turn heat up and add vegetables.
  • Step 10
    Toss until vegetables are tender crisp, about 10 minutes.
  • Step 11
    Mix cornstarch with water.
  • Step 12
    Add to pan.
  • Step 13
    Stir and cook until thickened.
  • Step 14
    Add tomatoes.
