Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 - garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 - plum tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons flat leaf parsely, minced
  • 4 - 6" whole-wheat pita pocket
  • - romaine lettuce leaves
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced

How To Make greek burgers

  • Step 1
    Mix ground beef, garlic; lemon juice, oregano leaves; cumin, pepper, plum tomato and parsley.
  • Step 2
    Form into 4 patties about 3/4\" thick.
  • Step 3
    Grill or broil, 4\" from souce of heat, for 3 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
  • Step 4
    Cut the top third off of four 6\" whole-wheat pita pocket breads.
  • Step 5
    Turn the cut-off piece round side down; tuck inside to pocket bread to reinforce bottom.
  • Step 6
    Place a grilled burger in each pocket bread along with a romaine lettuce leaf and paper-thin slices from 1 small red onion.
