This came from my grandmother's recipe box and it sounded like a great meal to serve on a cold day.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef stew meat
  • 1 or 2 stalks celery, cut to bite-size pieces
  • 1/2 - onion, chopped
  • 3 - carrots, cut to bite-size pieces
  • 4 - potatoes, peeled and cut to bite-size pieces
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon tapioca
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 cup tomato juice (personal choice is v-8 juice)

  • Step 1
    Mix all ingredients together in a dutch oven. Cover and bake at 250 degrees for 4 hours.
