I am sure that is was cheaper than the Hungarian Goulash, but was well loved and to this day is enjoyed by my family and friends that eat home style meals with us.
Ingredients
-
1 lbbox elbow macaroni, cooked and drained
-
1 1/2 lblean ground beef
-
1onion, chopped
-
1bell pepper, chopped
-
2 qttomatoes (i prefer home canned)
-
1 tspkosher salt
-
1/2 tspfreshly ground black pepper
-
1 Tbspdried parsley
-
1 tspgranulated garlic
-
1 lbcheddar cheese, shredded
How to Make Goulash
- Cook and drain macaroni and set aside. Brown ground meat with onions and peppers. Drain off grease.
- Add tomatoes and seasonings. Add to macaroni in a large ovenproof casserole dish. Stir in cheese and bake for 30 minutes at 350-degrees.
- Serve with a nice salad and a good crusty bread to sop up the juices. If there is leftovers they are good re-heated in a frying pan with a little water.
