This is Paula Deen's recipe for goulash- I've never found one I like better! It makes a huge pot. Most of the time I cut the recipe in half for my husband, 2 little ones, and myself. I don't know the exact measurements for the salt, pepper, and garlic powder- I just eyeball those.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon seasoned salt
  • 2 tablespoons italian seasoning
  • 3 - bay leaves
  • 1 - diced onion
  • 3 cloves diced garlic
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 29 ounces tomato sauce
  • 15 ounces diced tomatoes (2 cans)
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 1 1/3 cups water
  • - salt
  • - pepper
  • - garlic powder

How To Make goulash

  • Step 1
    Brown meat in a Dutch oven with the onions and garlic. Once browned, add the seasonings, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and water. Simmer covered for 20 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Add the macaroni and simmer covered another 20 minutes.
