This is Paula Deen's recipe for goulash- I've never found one I like better! It makes a huge pot. Most of the time I cut the recipe in half for my husband, 2 little ones, and myself. I don't know the exact measurements for the salt, pepper, and garlic powder- I just eyeball those.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 lb
    ground turkey
  • 1 Tbsp
    seasoned salt
  • 2 Tbsp
    italian seasoning
  • 3
    bay leaves
  • 1
    diced onion
  • 3 clove
    diced garlic
  • 3 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 29 oz
    tomato sauce
  • 15 oz
    diced tomatoes (2 cans)
  • 2 c
    elbow macaroni
  • 1 1/3 c
    water
  • ·
    salt
  • ·
    pepper
  • ·
    garlic powder

How to Make Goulash

Step-by-Step

  1. Brown meat in a Dutch oven with the onions and garlic. Once browned, add the seasonings, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and water. Simmer covered for 20 minutes.
  2. Add the macaroni and simmer covered another 20 minutes.
