Ingredients
- 1/3 cup cooking oil
- 1 1/2 lb round steak, thick
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/3 cup fine, dry bread crumbs (i use italian-style)
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 onion, minced
- 2 cups hot water
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 6 ounces can tomato paste
How To Make italian round steak

Step 1Pound flour into round steak.

Step 2Trim off fat and cut into pieces

Step 3Dip meat into beaten egg.

Step 4Roll meat in bread crumbs and 1/2 of cheese.

Step 5Brown in oil.

Step 6Put browned meat in shallow baking dish.

Step 7Put onions in pan meat was browned in and saute'.

Step 8Combine tomato paste, hot water and spices.

Step 9Boil mixture for 5 minutes.

Step 10Pour most of sauce over meat, add 1/2 cheese and rest of sauce.

Step 11Bake covered at 350° for 1 hour or until tender.
